Pinkhouse Handworks is a Etsy shop operated by Janice, a stay-at-home mom with 10 years of experience as a Montessori guide. This experience has led her to make Montessori baby toys. Her Etsy shop offers toys from the Montessori Assistants to Infancy (0-3) course. These beautiful and simple toys are made to complement the growing infant’s natural physical development. These toys are appropriate for all babies and can be appreciated by Montessori and non-Montessori families alike.

In our quest to find safe, quality toys for our children, we decided to try Janice's wooden String of Beads. This toy is 4 1/2 inches long and is great for babies 3 months old and up. The String of Beads is the perfect size for safe holding and mouthing. The center beads slide easily along the string while the end beads are safely held onto the string by singed and counter sunk knots. This safe, heirloom quality wooden baby toy is reasonable priced at $8 (plus s & h) and is also included in the five piece Montessori Baby Toy Set.

This wooden String of Beads is another beautiful and safe alternative to mass-produced plastic toys. These wooden toys do not contain any of the harmful chemicals that are found in plastics and are not finished with chemical paints. Instead, the toys from Pinkhouse Handworks are safely left in their natural wood state without paint, finish, or glue.

Jonathan's String of Beads arrived safely wrapped in tissue paper and accompanied by a information card. Jonathan enjoys chomping and slobbering all over this toy. The size is perfect for him to fit the beads in his mouth, but secure enough that I don't worry about him choking. The small size also makes this a great toy to take on the go.
