This summer as we (Tim) hung and finished drywall on all of the outside walls this alcove became a catch-all for everything we didn't want covered in drywall dust.
I had planned to organize the craft alcove before Jonathan was born, but since he decided to join us 4 weeks early, it remained an unorganized mess.
Last week, with my sister home on Christmas Break, I decided to try again. With lots of help from Aunt Kate, we finally have an organized craft space.
We moved the fabric into an under-the-bed storage bin, moved my 12 x 12 scrapbook paper into a new 3-drawer organizer (not shown), consolidated smaller containers into the large drawer, and straightened the bottom floor area. I'd love to get those boxes out of their entirely, but with only two closets in the house, they need to go somewhere :)
Here are some photos of before and after.
Entire Alcove
Top 2 Shelves
Notice the huge bag full of felt play food (I really need to get on the ball and sell these)
Bottom 2 Shelves
My 2 new 12 x 12 3-drawer organizers will be on the empty shelf.
I still plan on covering the entire alcove with some sort of curtain, but this is definitely a much needed improvement.
Thanks Aunt Kate!!!
