Bag It Conscious {Review & Discount Code}

Our family usually eats dinner on the go at least once a week when we venture out for an evening of family fun. Since our children still go to bed early, we leave right after they wake up from their naps and simply pack a dinner or snacks to eat throughout the evening.

A great way to go green when packing food to eat away from home is to use reusable cloth sandwich and snack bags. These bags are a great alternative to plastic zip top baggies that end up in the landfill or have to be recycled.

I also love all the fabric choices there are for these bags. It definitely makes packing and eating snacks on the road prettier and more fun.

Today I get to introduce you to Lizzy and her Etsy shop, Bag It Conscious. Lizzy makes and sells handmade reusable sandwich and snack bags, lunch bags, totes, market bags, etc. Everything to replace, or at least reduce the use of plastic. She believes, and we definitely agree, that every little change we make in our lives towards helping the environment, goes a very long way and that teaching our kids alternatives is the best way to make a lasting difference.

We had the opportunity to review a Sandwich Sized Reusable Bag from Bag It Conscious. I chose this adorable apple print called Take a Bite for our bag and it arrived in just a few days. When I opened the package, our bag was carefully wrapped in colorful tissue paper and would have been perfect for gift giving.

The Reusable Sandwich and Snack Bags are made of 100% cotton fabrics and lined with nylon waterproof and food-safe ripstop material. They also have no exposed seems, which I love. I also love the bright orange nylon that Lizzy used in this bag. (Note: this is a photo of the bag turned inside out)

The top of these bags close with Velcro. The sandwich bags measure a generous 6.5" x 6.5".

What I like best about these bags is that to clean them you can simply turn them inside out and shake them out or wipe them with a damp cloth. Then, when they get really dirty you can throw them in the wash. (Wash cold, line dry recommended.)

Buy It! Reusable Sandwich Bags from Bag It Conscious sell for $7 each and Snack Bags are $6.50. Sandwich and Snack Bag Sets are $13.25. That's not bad when you take into consideration that this bag will probably last at least a couple of years.

We've now used this bag on several occasions and love it. The velcro is strong enough to stay together even if shoved into the diaper bag but not so strong that the kid's can't open it. The sewing is also very neat and consistent and definitely looks like it will last for a long time.

Would you like to get your own Reusable Sandwich or Snack Bag from Bag It Conscious? I know you would!
