NaturOli Soap Nuts {Review & Giveaway}

We continue to be amazed with how wonderfully God supplies everything we need, even right down to laundry detergent.

Our family has been using soap nuts to clean our laundry for over a year and a half and we are still in awe of how this simple dried shell can so effectively clean all of our laundry. We reviewed NaturOli's Soap Nuts for the first time this past March. The following information on soap nuts is from that first review.
Soap nuts grow on trees and do not contain any harmful chemicals or additives. Soap nuts are the dried shells from the soapberry. These shells contain a substance called saponin that produces a soaping effect. Saponin is a 100% natural alternative to chemical laundry detergents. Soap nuts also contain a natural fabric softener.

Soap nuts have been used for centuries throughout the world as laundry cleaners, body soap, and for everyday household cleaning. They are 100% natural, chemical-free, frangrance-free, biodegradable and hypoallergenic. The cost per load when using soap nuts is also very low.

To use soap nuts in the wash you simply place the dried shells in a small bag and toss it into the wash machine with your dirty laundry. As the soap nuts are aggitated in the washer the Saponin is released and circulates to clean you laundry. There are very little to no suds produced by soap nuts, but you can be sure that they are working when your clothes come out smelling completely clean. Soap nuts are also absolutely ideal for High Effeciency (HE) and all front loading washers.

You can reuse a handful of nuts for 5 or more loads, depending on water temperature. Once you are finished with the soap nuts they can then be added to your compost. Most soap nut orders come with a reusable muslin bag which you use to place the nuts in and then throw in the washer.

Because soap nut leave behind no residue or harsh chemicals they are a perfect choice for washing clothes for little ones or anyone with sensitive skin. We use soap nuts for all of our laundry and love the fact that we are protecting our skin from irritation while also choosing an evironmentally friendly method of washing our clothes.

Soap nuts can also be used to make safe and natural cleaners for general household use, windows & glass, dishwashers, hands, jewelry, steam cleaning carpets, pets and shampoo.
We have now tried soap nuts from a few different companies. By far the NaturOli Soap Nuts are the best quality we've seen. They are also carefully inspected and packaged in the United States without the use of plastic and are completely dried making them much nicer to handle.

Buy It: The NaturOli brand of soap nuts are the best priced soap nuts we have found. If you buy it in larger quantities ($48.85 for 640 loads), you are spending around $0.076 per load! You can also purchase NaturOli's soap nuts in smaller quantities, which will be around $0.12 per load. As an added bonus you are able to save additional money since there is no need for dryer sheets or fabric softeners.

Win It: NaturOli has graciously offered one of our readers a 4 oz bag of soap nuts plus a 1 oz bottle of Extreme 18X concentrated cleaner. The 4 oz bag of soap nuts is enough to do 40 loads of laundry! This giveaway is open to those within the continental US only.
