Decorating Opinions Needed!

We recently received a set of black chalkboard vinyl decals (keep an eye out for a giveaway soon). I want to place them at the kids' level so they can draw on them.

The open low wall space we have is in the hallway. Here are the two options.

This is the wall you see when you first enter our home.
It's technically a hallway wall but also serves as a partially wall to the living room.
This is farther down the hallway. The space is more empty,
but there is also less room to move around as there is a wall opposite of this wall.
As reference this is the entire span of wall.
Where would you place these? Also any tips for the arrangement of the four pieces?

  1. I would place in the first option (by the other pictures). I would arrange them in varying sizes in a downward wave like motions from the pictures already on the wall. I'm not sure if you have more than 4 but everything always looks better in odd numbers. So, if you have one more to add that may balance things out better. These look fun!

  2. Those are really neat! I like the first way. I agree with Heather about things looking better in odd numbers - I would be inclined to leave out the smallest one - maybe you could put that somewhere else in your house. Enjoy!

  3. I actually think you should use the 2nd option (further down the wall). When you look at the span of the wall, having them down there will balance things out (b/c you already have a bunch of great stuff on the entrance side) and if your kids will be drawing on them you may not want them to be the first thing people see coming in the house or sitting in the living room... I don't know. It's hard to say w/o knowing your house and your fam. Can't wait fo rhte giveaway!!

  4. I agree with Caroline; I like the 2nd option because it balances things out a bit. I feel if the chalk decals are under the pictures, they may be a distraction taking away from the frames and the photos themselves. Also, with the second option there would be less space (because it is in the hall) and that may force the kids to be clamer while coloring. Just a few thoughts! :)
