Nellie's All Natural Laundry Soda

Last week we ordered some new laundry detergent from Amazon using gift cards from Swagbucks. It arrived two days later with free shipping because of our Amazon Prime account.

Although we've been happy with using Charlie's Soap Powderfor our cloth diapers I decided to try a different detergent that was recommended by Stephanie from Keeper of the Home in her 5 Mom Laundry Detergent Test. In her panel test, Nellie's All Natural Laundry Sodawas a favorite of all five moms and ended up scoring slightly higher than Charlie's Soap.

Thankfully, Amazon carries both Charlie's Soap and Nellie's All-Natural Laundry Soda. While the prices for these two detergents are comparable ($18.98 & $19.99), the Nellie's Laundry Soda has about 20 more loads, making it the best deal of the two at less than 20 cents per load.

The first impression I had when opening the box from Amazon was that the Nellie's tin was absolutely adorable. I love the retro, 50s style feel!

So far we've used this laundry soda for five loads of cloth diapers and we've been very pleased with how clean the diapers have been.

Additional Details:
~ completely natural
~ certified for high efficiency washing machines
~ metal tin is reusable and easy to recycle
~ includes a 1 Tbsp scoop to measure for each load
~ dissolves completely in hot or cold water
~ rinses thoroughly and leaves no residue
~ safe for cloth diapers and anyone with sensitive skin

For right now, we'll be using our Nellie's All Natural Laundry Sodafor our cloth diapers only. Since we wash about 3 1/2 loads of diapers each week this tin will last us a little over 6 months. That's less than $3.50 each month for all natural, cloth diaper safe detergent. Plus it was completely free by using our Swagbucks
