Month-by-Month Baby Photos {Finished Friday} come and link up your posts, too!

Scroll down to link your finished projects & posts.

I finally edited Amelia's 9 and 10 month photos. So today's a two for one deal.

Amelia's waving...

and making cute little kissy faces.

Here's a recap...only 2 months left.

For those who have asked, I use a very simple point and shoot camera with natural light and no flash. All images are edited for free at picmonkey.com.

Today's Question: Have you been taking lots of pictures of your kids this summer? What are some of your favorite photos so far?
I'm trying to hold myself accountable to finish some of the projects on my to do list by posting each Friday about a project I've completed.
Would you like to join in? Link up to your own projects below.
1. Link to your project post, not your blog's home page, so we can find it easily.

Here’s our “little” eight month old.

Finished Friday: Baby Leg Warmers {come and link up your finished projects, too!}

This week I finally got around to making a few more sets of leg warmers for Amelia. I love baby leg warmers! They are really great for around the house and make diaper changes so much easier.

I had to snag a picture of these ones, even though Amelia was sleeping. Thankfully, she’s a pretty sound sleeper! The leg warmers say, “HUG ME.”

I made two pairs of baby leg warmers out of women’s knee high socks. The third pair are more of ankle warmers. They were a pair of Christmas socks that Emahry wore until both heels had holes (she LOVED them). They work great to cover the gap between the top of Amelia’s socks and the bottom of her pants when she’s held or carried in the Ergo.

In total, all three pairs of leg warmers cost under $4. Much less than baby leg warmers I could buy in a store or online. Want to know another reason why I love this project? I finished all three pairs, start to finish, in under 30 minutes!

Today's Questions: What is your favorite quick project?

Amelia's 5 Month Photo

I can't believe this beautiful little girl is already 5 months old! It seems like it was just a few weeks ago that we were heading home early to beat a hurricane. Time sure does fly when you're not sleeping through the night having fun.

Today's Question: Do you take pictures of your children at home or are most of your photos of special occasions?

Amelia's 4 Month Photo

It's getting really difficult to get a shot without her feet being blurry from all that moving.

I'm not sure what happened here, but she wasn't very happy about it.

What do you like best about taking photos of your children?

Kandy Apple Kids {Review & Giveaway}

Introduction: Kandy Apple Kids is owned and operated by Kari. Kari is one busy woman, running Kandy Apple Kids on Etsy and also stocking her shops, Cupcakes & Dump Trucks and Boytique.

Selection: Kari makes beautiful One Size Pocket Diapers, adorable daschund stuffies, and colorful crayon rolls. (Simply click on the photos below to view each listing.)

Review: We received a beautiful One Size minky diaper from Kandy Apple Kids as well as an adorable stuffed daschund to review.

As soon as we opened the fluffy mail I was impressed by the quality and workmanship (workwomanship) of both items. The quality of stitching and care to detail is apparent when you see Kari's items up close.

I also love the color combinations. They are bright and fun, perfect for my energetic little ones.

Since we received this diaper, it has been a go to diaper for Eliya. We've used the diaper away from home several times and have even employed it as a night time diaper of several occasions. I absolutely love how soft and cuddly the minky inner and outer fabrics are.

I also love that we've had no issues with leaking or wicking with Kari's diaper.

Since this is a One Size diaper it fits both of our diaper wearer. It converts between sizes by a snap down rise. The snap placement allows this diaper to have three different rise options and multiple tummy and thigh settings.

Kari's diapers are made using the Nykibaby Pattern, and fit most babies and toddlers from birth to potty training, approximately 8-40 pounds. The unique welt-style pocket opening makes the pocket easy to stuff.
I like the fit of this diaper on both Amelia (3 months) and Eliya (21 months). Although I do like the fit on Eliya a little better.

The only thing that I didn't completely love is the micorfiber towel insert. Not that there is anything wrong with the insert, I just personally prefer the microfiber inserts that are sewn instead of having to fold the insert before stuffing it into the pocket. Like I said this is just my personal preference.

Kari's stuffed daschund could not be more loved at our home. Since his arrival, the kids have been taking turns having him sleep in their beds. I don't think he's spent very many nights in the toy basket at all.

The adorable daschund is bright and cheerful and exceptionally well made. It actually took me a few minutes to find where Kari had finished him up by hand sewing the last little section closed.

Kari's stuffed daschunds are approximately 19 inches long. Their bodies are made from 100% cotton with polyester/minky ears. These stuffed toys would make great Christmas gifts for the little ones in your life.

Connect: Kandy Apple Kids on Etsy, Cupcakes and Dump Trucks, Boytique (scroll down to Kandy Apple Kids), Facebook

Amelia's One Month Photos

I love, my cousin, Sarah's monthly photos of her son Peter.

I'm going to try to stay on the ball and do a monthly photo of Amelia until she turns one. I decided to choose a 12 month onesie so she can wear the same clothes in every photo. Here are two I took today. I can't decide which I like better.

What do you think, should we stick with the plain background or the colorful baby quilt?

(I'm thinking I should turn her to face the window since this one seems to have a shadow on her face. I may try for that tomorrow.)
Also, any tips for photographing a baby indoors with only a point and shoot camera? Flash, no flash?

A Beautiful New Baby Quilt

This past week we received this gorgeous quilt from my aunt. She has lovingly made each of our four children a quilt when they were born.

That means she's made four baby quilt in the last four and a half years, and that's just for our family alone.

I'm so glad she's shared her special talent with us. I'm sure if I was left to myself to make a keepsake quilt for every child I'd have them finished...well, maybe never.

Do you make or purchase special keepsake items for each of your children? If so, what?

Finished Friday: Birth Stories

I'm trying to hold myself accountable to finish some of the projects on my to do list by posting each Friday about a project I've completed. For the most part these projects aren't part of my daily or weekly household chores, although some weeks finishing those items is a challenge all in its own.
With our oldest three children, it took me a LONG time to get around to posting their birth stories. This time I was determined to get Amelia's entire birth story posted before she was a month old.

I just finished her birth story this week, so now all four birth stories are completed. Each of their stories are so different, proving that each pregnancy, labor and delivery is completely unique...just like each child.

Want to read them? Here they are. Simply click on each link to begin reading.
Emahry's Birth Story 05/10/07
Jonathan's Birth Story 09/23/08

Eliya's Birth Story 2/9/10
Amelia's Birth Story 8/25/11
There are several posts in each story, so just follow the links at the end of each post to continue reading.

What things have you crossed off of your list recently?
