Frozen Fruit Cocktail
3 - 29 oz. cans of Fruit Cocktail, drained
1 - 10 oz. jar of Marachino Cherries, undrained
3 1/2 to 4 cups of Ginger Ale (1/3 to 1/2 of a two liter bottle)
Combine drained Fruit Cocktail, undrained Cherries, and Ginger Ale in a glass bowl or dish. Stir to evenly distribute cherries.
Cover bowl or dish with foil and place in freezer for 8-12 hours or overnight, stirring occassionally during the first 1 to 1 1/2 hours of freezing.
Remove from the freezer about an hour before serving. Break into chunks with an ice pick or sturdy butter knife.
The fruit should still be partially frozen when you eat it.
What cool treats does your family like during the summer?
oooh, this sounds yummy! Thank you for the idea. :) My kids would love this.
ReplyDeleteOooo that looks good! If I knew it were going to be warm next week, I'd make this for the teachers for the last day of school. Maybe for Little Miss's birthday party in August. If it's warm enough! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd those strawberries? Wow. We'd be fine eating them here... the wee ones LOVE strawberries (and I do, too). Have you ever made strawberry cake? Plus the smoothies. Dried strawberries? How many plants are giving you this much? I just planted strawberries this year... I started with 10 and four somehow disappeared, but six are doing well -- for next year!
