GetN' Green {Review & Giveaway}

Introduction: GetN’Green is an online and retail store committed to enhancing the well being and health of their customers and the planet by offering products from companies that use sustainable materials and manufacturing methods.

Co-founders Alexa Freeburg and Gregg McMan strive to offer outstanding, earth friendly products. They believe in building and maintaining strong customer and vendor relationships while providing a healthy and supportive environment for employees.

GetN' Green received an Eco Star award from the state of Montana in both 2009 and 2010.

Selection: GetN' Green offers a wide variety of earth friendly products for the whole family. some of their items include BPA free baby bottles & cups, kids' toys and games, kitchen & lunch supplies, several brands of BPA free & stainless steel water bottlesWrapsacks reusable gift bags, unique green gifts and even eco-friendly pet supplies. GetN' Green has a flat shipping rate of $5.99 and through November 31st you can get free shipping on orders over $75.

Review: GetN' Green sent us two items to review. The first was a sample of SKOY cloths. (Make sure you read to the bottom of this review for a chance to win your own 4-pack of SKOY cloths.)

SKOY cloths are super absorbent, durable, biodegradable and natural multi-use cloths. SKOY cloths can be used in place of your sponge, wash cloth or paper towels.

These are a European made product and are made from a natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp. SKOY cloth is a chlorine-free product using water-based colors and inks. SKOY cloths were shown, by and independent composting test, to break down completely within 5 weeks.

One SKOY cloth can be reused and can last months. Using a SKOY cloth is equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels in an average home. With the high cost of paper towels, at least $2 a roll, SKOY cloth is the obvious choice for your wallet and the environment.

The SKOY cloth has an absorption factor of 15x its own weight. This is equivalent to using 15 sheets of good-quality paper towels at once.

SKOY cloths are long-lasting because they can easily be washed. They also dry quickly so they are not a breeding ground for bacteria. SKOY cloths can be dried in the microwave to help kill any harmful bacteria. They are also dishwasher and washer/dryer safe.

Regular SKOY cloths, like the samples we received, are approximately 7”x 7” (Large SKOY 12”x 10”).

GetN' Green carries four styles of SKOY cloths that each come with 4 cloths per pack. You can get Mixed Color Variety with Flowers, Mixed Color with Inspirational Text, All White with Flower design, GetN' Green Logo on Teal, or Holiday three pack. you can also get two Large Paw Print SKOY cloths.

We have used our SKOY cloth on numerous occasions and it is still going strong. I love how absorbent it is and how it doesn't start to smell as soon as I use it. I also love that this product encourages people to ditch their paper towel habit. The SKOY cloth is definitely one easy way to a greener lifestyle.

GetN' Green also provided us with a ECO Lunchbox to review. This is a three-in-one stainless steel food container and is designed as a children's lunchbox.

This 2-layer stainless steel food container has a small inner box that fits into the top compartment. The closures are kid-tested and will not snap little fingers. We've tested this with both Emahry (3 1/2) and Jonathan (2) and neither of them have been hurt by the closures. However, it is difficult for them to take the lids off of the compartments by themselves.
When closed the lunchbox measures 4 inches wide, 5 1/2 inches long and 2 3/4 inches high.

The bottom layer is 1 inch deep and fits a whole sandwich on sliced bread. The top layer is 1 1/2 inches deep and fits cut fruit, dry snacks, pasta or salad. The small inner box, which contains 1/2 cup of wet foods, is good for applesauce, cut fruit and salads, but its pressure fitting stainless steel lid is not 100% leak-proof because no plastic is used.

The ECO Lunchbox is dishwasher safe, has no plastic, is made of series 205 stainless steel and is independently lab tested as lead-free and food-safe.

Buy It: You can purchase your own SKOY cloths through GetN' Green for $6.95 for a set of four. You can also purchased an ECO Lunchbox for $20.95. Remember that GetN' Green offers a flat rate shipping fee of $5.99 or you can get free shipping on orders over $75.

Special Offer: GetN' Green is offering all of our readers a 10% discount off of your entire purchase (shipping not included) until 12/31/10 when you use the discount code "H4H" during checkout.

Win It: GetN' Green has offered to give away a Set of 4 SKOY Cloths to one of our readers. Opened to US only.

I like the stainless steel water bottles in all the different colors. We have 3 stainless steel bottles and quality really makes a difference. One of the bottles we have has a strong metallic odor when you drink...not good!
